II-VI Optical Systems (Formally Max Levy Autograph (MLA)) is a worldwide leader in ultra precision patterning for the machine vision industry. Machine Vision Grids and Targets are used in a wide range of OEM and End User applications. These machine vision calibration grids are used to inspect and calibrate automated or robotic equipment, medical diagnostic equipment, manufacturing monitoring equipment and semiconductor processing systems. Also, a machine vision calibration target can be used in two-dimensional and three-dimensional systems and are used to measure various machine vision field parameters, such as magnification and distortion.

II-VI's calibration and alignment grids can be built into OEM equipment as part of the Automatic Alignment or Calibration and Focusing System. Along with our ability to manufacture extremely large grids, up to 3000mm, we can custom manufacture grids for very small machine vision systems down to 1mm.

Custom machine vision calibration grids and targets can be requested here.

Checkerboard, line grid, and dot arrays patterns can be chrome on clear glass, low reflection chrome on clear glass, or etched into the clear glass and filled with MIL-I-43553 black (standard), white or red Epoxy. Composite checkerboard, grid, and dot patterns, with high contrast low reflection black chrome against a diffuse white background can be produced for machine vision applications using top “Thru-the Lens” and “Ring” lighting. Proprietary etched grid patterns transparent to top and bottom lighting but visible with edge lighting and fluorescent patterns for deep UV applications are also available through our Sales Engineering Department.

Applications:

  • Checkerboard Targets
  • Grid and Dot Arrays
  • Gray Scale Targets
  • Ronchi Rulings
  • Distortion Targets
