The production of Precision Photochemically Etched Metal and Metalized
Films is made possible by our capability to very accurately manufacture
Compensated Replication Phototooling. Compensation is required for
the changes in feature dimensions that occur when metal is “wet” or spray
etched. |
| The
form and amount of Compensation built into the Phototooling are a
function of the material type, thickness, the relative shape and size of
the features to reproduced, the etching process, subsequent finishes and
more. Product design requirements for very precise features are typical
for these parts. Their applications include Small Mechanical Parts, Leaf
Springs, Connector Arrays, Masks, Free Standing Grids, Laser and IR Target
Apertures, Precision Pin Holes and Encoders. |

|
| Tolerances for etched Parts are dependent on the material,
material thickness, surface finish, overall feature sizes, part size and
subsequent finishes. Feature openings or sizes for standard production typically
are 1.5X the metal Thickness. Feature size Tolerance can be estimated at
10% -15% of the metal Thickness for standard production. Special Processing
needs can be addressed with proprietary tooling and processes. An alternative
is Electroforming production. |
